Hamby Catering & Events is a beloved Charleston institution that has been serving the Lowcountry since 1979. What began as a passion project in Fran and Tom Hamby’s family kitchen has grown into one of the region’s most celebrated full-service catering companies—now led by family owners Candice Culbertson Hudnall and her father, Wayne Culbertson.
Candice, a seasoned marketing and business executive with degrees from Clemson and The Citadel, joined Hamby in 2011 to rebrand and help expand the company. Today, she leads all aspects of operations, sales, and strategy as President and majority owner. Wayne, a former international executive with Michelin, brings decades of leadership and operational expertise as Hamby’s COO. Together, this father-daughter team honors the company’s rich legacy while continuing to innovate and elevate the hospitality experience.
